The Gen.Hope Center of Excellence, together with its partners, held a strategic session at the Kyiv School of Economics campus to develop an advocacy framework addressing the complex harm caused to children by war.

Children’s needs do not end when humanitarian programmes end, however effective they may be. Those needs remain because war continues to affect children’s sense of safety, learning and trust in the world
The experts followed a common framework: from identifying problems, their causes, and consequences to desired changes, advocacy mechanisms, and partnerships.
As a result, they formed four areas of focus for Gen.Hope’s advocacy work:
- availability, access and continuity of MHPSS support;
- ensuring quality, safety, and evidence-based intervention;
- the child’s rights, dignity, and participation;
- acknowledgement of the complex harm inflicted on children by war.
The next step for our team is to analyze and integrate the outcomes of the session into one strategic framework: from a vision for systemic change to specific results, mechanisms, and indicators.
