Gen.Hope Became a Partner of KSE’s Open Picnic 2026 at the Obolon Campus

On May 30, 2026, the KSE campus in Obolon once again opened its doors to the community, Kyiv residents, and city guests. This year, the Open Picnic was held in partnership with Gen.Hope.

More than 1,400 people attended the event. In addition to lectures, workshops, sports activities, and a concert program, guests also had the opportunity to learn about the approaches that will form part of the future Gen.Hope mental health center for children and adolescents.
For the picnic, the Gen.Hope team created four interactive spaces that introduced visitors to practices of self-regulation, movement, creativity, and emotional support. These approaches are part of the Pure Edge program, developed by Stanford University and adapted by Gen.Hope to help children and adults develop related skills.
Through creativity, physical activities, breathing exercises, movement and interaction, visitors could try out simple tools that help them better understand their own state of mind, restore inner balance, and find solace in everyday life.
It is important to Gen.Hope that children’s mental health is not limited to crisis situations or therapy sessions. Instead, mental health should be integrated into the environment where children learn, play, regain a sense of security, and build relationships with others.
This approach is the foundation of the future Gen.Hope center, which is being established on the KSE campus. The Center will combine direct psychological and psychosocial support for children and families, research, professional training, international expertise, and advocacy in the field of mental health for children and adolescents living under war conditions.
Upon opening, this space will provide support to thousands of children, adolescents, families, and professionals. It will be a place where children can find help, professionals can gain knowledge and professional support, while society can discover new strategies and solutions for dealing with the consequences of war.
Gen.Hope Center is a leading platform created to respond to the challenges of childhood trauma in the context of war. Established in partnership with the Kyiv School of Economics, the Center brings together cutting-edge research, hands-on practice, and international cooperation to transform how societies protect children’s mental health and development in times of war and armed conflict.
