Gen.Ukrainian and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine deepen partnership to provide systematic support for adolescents
For two academic years now, Gen.Ukrainian has been working with the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ lyceums. We are developing a psychological support system for teenagers studying amid the war.

Partnerships like these are significant to Gen.Hope. Through them, we can better understand the changing needs of adolescents, the impact of the war on their development, and the kind of support they truly need.
During the 2025–2026 academic year, Gen.Ukrainian worked with students, psychologists, and educators in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, and Ivano-Frankivsk.
We screened 513 students for their psychological and emotional wellbeing using the international CATS-2 scale. It helped us figure out what they need and identify who needs extra support.
In addition, Gen experts worked with psychologists and social workers at the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ lyceums, who interact with the teenagers on a daily basis. We spent 75 hours providing them with training, supervision, and resource support.
Lyceums dedicated to public safety are an important setting for this kind of work. The students here and their families know what war is like firsthand: their parents have been killed, fought in the war, gone missing, or have been in captivity.
At the same time, this generation will grow up to become tomorrow's police, civil defense, and rescue service personnel, as well as experts in other fields—the very people who will ensure the country’s resilience.
By supporting these teenagers today, we help them maintain their strength, trust, ability to learn, build relationships, cope with stressful situations, and think about their own future.
Because this generation will determine what the country will look like in ten years.
This is precisely what shapes the role of Gen.Hope: transforming practical work with children and adolescents living in war conditions into a long-term support system—through research, evidence-based approaches, training for specialists, international experience, and working with the child’s social environment.
